*** ROOKIES/COACH PITCH TIP ***

Coaches are recommended to be using the 'prayer drill' to be throwing overarm from one knee, as flat as possible to the catcher, to give their batters a better chance at hitting the ball.

It has been observed that underarm and lobbing the ball is less effective due to the high arc on the ball, which results in the ball not staying through the strike zone and is harder for players to hit through the line (and to judge on where it will cross).

A reminder that all coaches who are throwing pitches are to be at a point 6 feet in front of the pitcher (40 feet from home plate) and to approximately 2-3 feet to the third base side so as to not block the view of the pitcher, as well as limiting the likelihood of getting in the way of the fielding team's throws to first base.

*** Scoring the end of a game ***

It has been noted that there has been some confusion about how to determine the final score of a game that does not finish with the bottom of the innings being retired with 3 outs nor reaching the run limit.

NOTES:
》After the team batting first is retired (3 outs) or reaches the run limit, and a new inning cannot be started, the game is completed and all runs shall be recorded where the team batting second has a lead, or scores a winning run in the bottom of the inning.

》If the team batting second is in front after the top of the inning is completed, and a new inning cannot be started due to time, they are not required to bat, and any runs scored in the top of that innings shall be counted.

》A score shall only revert back to the previous innings where the top of the innings has not been completed (3 outs or run limit), or the team batting second does not score the winning run, is not retired (3 outs) nor reaches the run limit to finish the game.

Scorers, please also make sure that you get the umpire(s) name before the start of the game, as well as coaches (who should be listed on the line-ups). We are getting several results coming through missing this mandatory information.
